- 3 - HISTORY
AND NICE TO KNOW
- The hamlet of
Saint Laurent: this hamlet has a small Roman church
not being used anymore. You will notice remarkable
details in the village houses and find a beautiful old
crucifix. The road to the plateau of Rayrolles will
give you a marvelous view over the valley of La
Mousse, a small brooklet of which the water babbles
down to Coupiac. To remember 2 major floodings:
- 29th of May 1968:
0,80m and 11th of may 1993: 1,80m, There was water in
the streets of the village!
- During your walk
you will notice the presence of oak trees everywhere.
You will recognize old trees by its crackled tree bark
and the young trees by its gray and smooth tree bark.
Some parcels especially at Ventadouyre you will find
vegetation of much darker color Because of reforesting
they are planted with fir trees.
